It took him about 3 seconds to get into a defensive crouch between Archer and the origin of that bullet. He's visibly more frightened than he usually is looking at a fight, but he can't really let Archer get hurt further. They're friends, after all.]

...Can you move?

[He can, luckily, move and is even in good spirits enough to be himself. So he gets up, very slowly and with a lot of profanity sprinkled in, and looks around for the fucking punk who did that]

[Well. Internally that doesn't sit terribly well with Archer, but he also doesn't have an off switch]

he pauses, peers in one direction, and goes white]

[has to take a deep breath, which kind of comes out a sob

but he's trying super hard not to melt down, so he just nods and grabs Archer's arm and runs. He figures he'll pick him up once they've gained a little ground.]

[And he follows, perhaps not as fast as Diarmuid would want, but at an impressive clip either way. Though he's bleeding still, a lot, even with his free hand pressed to the wound, and that's not really doing him much good. So after a while he gives a wry chuckle, looking down at all the blood]

[something creepy: watching someone in terrified tears fight to keep a slasher smile off his face]

He's doing that thing where he hyperfocuses on Archer in order not to see his hallucinations. The thing is, he has to pick him up now, so that's going to be harder to do. But they have to keep moving, so he just hefts Archer up and takes off again.

For now, there are no more gunshots.]

[Okay, wasn't actually expected to be carried. Actually, he feels mildly emasculated, but there sure is tons of blood all over Diarmuid now, so maybe this isn't bad?]

[they aren't going towards home anymore, though. They're just winding around trying to get out of the way.

Eventually D seems to think they've gone far enough though, because he slips into a narrow space between two buildings and puts Archer down.]

[To let him lick his wounds and soothe his injured pride?]

For you to get settled. Take care of that wound as much as you can.

[D, apparently, is just going to leave him here.]

[...close enough. He shrugs off his jacket and lifts his shirt to check the damage, though he's half focused on Diarmuid]

And what are you doing?

[He halts for a moment with a hand on the wall, fingers digging into the old mortar.]

...I'm going to go die so you won't.

Yeah? That sounds like a stupid idea if you ask me.

They won't let me go! This is why you had to kidnap me in the first place!

[snippish? yes. but he's freaking out right now, so it's a given]

They know when I'm lying, so I'll just tell them that you don't know anything and when I die they probably won't bother hunting you down, if you go far enough away.
