He figures Shirou will yell later for not looking concerned enough, but everyone else knows that when he's focused, he's really focused. Right now that means ducking into the engine room and getting everything fired up]

[For his part, D stays close behind Cu. He's terrified to the core, but he knows he can't go falling apart just yet. It's important to stay together, and being near Cu helps. He might be hovering overmuch, but it's better than throwing up.]

He's been on boats long enough to be able to set things up one-handed, no problem.

So he reaches over to hold Diarmuid's hand while he's at it]

[Oh. This is good. He's just going to hold on tight to the hand that's offered him and try not to shake too much.

Once they've taken off, though, he's going to let his legs go out from under him and huddle on the floor.]

[....he's never sure exactly what to do when Diarmuid gets like this. Sure, he can try to be comforting or try to give him space or whatever, but even Cu, with his vast confidence and ability to overlook things, knows that there are bits of Diarmuid he can never reach and never fix.

And this is his first time caring for someone like this. It's new and it's completely different from how he usually handles people. Sometimes he wonders if he doesn't worry enough, or if he's too casual and too flippant for someone so broken.

But Diarmuid still wants to be close, so as long as that's there, he'll just. Do whatever comes to mind first.]
