I can finally see that you're right there beside me

[So it's been awhile again. Since this shit anyway, I dunno how long. Weeks again? Things have really settled, too. It's slow going, but Raikou is getting better and better at this not being a giant douche thing. He stumbles often, and sometimes he gets frustrated and throws a bratty fit about it, but it's visible how hard he's trying. It's emotionally draining, in that it's endlessly tiring to push himself to change, and it's scary to feel like he's lost at sea as far as what to do and what to believe in. On the other hand, it's also immensely fulfilling -- because he's realised what it means to value something other than himself, and it's rather like waking up and seeing the world lit by sunshine for the first time. He's a little awed by everything, childishly, but it's nice.

And he's trying to do something nice right now, too. He's kind of a dumb noble about menial things, but he thinks that maybe Tsuyukusa would like it if he just tried out small nice gestures, so he's sneaking up behind him right now with a bowl of (rather messily) sliced peaches with sweet syrup drizzled (equally messily) over them, and a terribly amateur arrangement of flowers in a vase. HE MADE AN EFFORT OK.]

Hey, Tsuyukusa!

I don't know why. But-

[And this part's difficult, all the more obviously truthful in its difficulty. Raikou isn't Heihachi, so such admissions are anything but easy.]

But I do care.

[...He doesn't know what to say to any of that. It's unexpected, jarring, and it feels like it's come from out of nowhere, even as he realizes that it really hasn't. No, he had ample warning, he was simply too caught up in other things to really notice an infatuation like this one, not when he was so sure Raikou had fixated on Sakata.

His mouth is dry, and his throat feels so parched that he can almost feel a scraping sensation when he swallows.]

...Oh.

[Tsuyukusa is bad with words. The things he says rarely come out right, and always come out as an insult, it seems. That's why he doesn't trust himself to say anything to Raikou, right now.

He can show meaning, though, in ways other than words. So he reels Raikou into an embrace, firm as possible while still not trapping, just a comfortable force.
He isn't leaving.]

[And he'll hang on tightly for as long as Raikou needs, in all honesty. It's strange and scary, to have someone so obviously dependent on him. More jarring still, to remember exactly what this person in his arms has done to him, possibly could if he ever snapped again--

But he won't. Because Tsuyukusa will do his damnedest to keep him stable. He tugs him a little closer at the thought.]

I- I don't know how this sort of thing works for humans, but. I'm not leaving you. And I'm not leaving Heihachi. And that's going to have to be alright.

[identity profile] saplingspirit.livejournal.com 2011-11-15 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Why wouldn't you be?

[Tsuyukusa sounds honestly perplexed by the concept of not loving them equally. Ownership may not be a purely human trait, but it isn't one kodama usually practice, and certainly not when it comes to mates.

But it's a relief, feeling Raikou relax against him. And he relaxes too, letting out a slow breath.]

And the peaches are fine with me.

[He says it absently, only half-listening as he tilts his head down and noses at Raikou's hair, surprised by its softness. Heihachi puts a lot of shit in his to keep it manageable with his chosen hairstyle, and Tsuyukusa's has never been anything but course and wild.]

How badly do you want to avoid sticky fingers?

[He's teasing too, nuzzling him lightly even as he's drawing back a little, just enough that he can see Raikou's face and raise an eyebrow.]

[identity profile] saplingspirit.livejournal.com 2011-11-16 05:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[He yelps, reaching up to catch Raikou's wrists and pull those sticky hands away from his face before they can do more damage.]

That is not washing them!

[identity profile] saplingspirit.livejournal.com 2011-11-16 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
[It's jarring, the feel of that tongue on his skin again. Too reminiscent of their first meeting. But he doesn't stiffen, doesn't flinch, doesn't seem to even react, outwardly.

His mind's racing, though, trying to figure out why he isn't lashing out or running screaming. A few moments of that, and he just gives up on even trying to comprehend the inexplicable comfort he has right now.]

You caught me, I wasn't.

[And he's turning his head, trying to catch Raikou's mouth with his own.

[Tsuyukusa is careful, when it comes to kisses. His teeth are so sharp, and human blood so dangerous to both parties that he sticks to closed mouth kisses when he doesn't think his partner will consider it odd. For all that, he's a good kisser, warm and firm and responsive.]

[identity profile] saplingspirit.livejournal.com 2011-11-23 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
[Raikou's hands are held in a loose grip-- semi-forgotten, really, in the face of the noise rising in the back of Tsuyu's throat with that bite he doesn't dare reciprocate, half appreciative, half irritated. Then his tongue snakes out, all caution, pressing against Raikou's lips.]

[identity profile] saplingspirit.livejournal.com 2011-11-23 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
[Okay, so there's another generous helping of annoyance in the growl he looses next, breaking the kiss and dropping his head, hands and all, to rasp his tongue gently along the pulse in Raikou's throat.]

[identity profile] saplingspirit.livejournal.com 2011-11-23 05:36 am (UTC)(link)
[He smirks (as much as he can with his tongue preoccupied as it is), and settles his hands on Raikou's hips, nudging him towards the seat he'd just vacated.]
