[Well, that's what he asked for. That's what he wanted. But he's not sure how to respond to it, now that it's there. He'd already decided to lock down his heart, so undoing that is frightening. To top it, he can feel an overwhelming wall of emotion just barely held off in the back of his mind. If he gives in now -- if they're really, truly together again -- then it's all going to burst.

So for a moment more he holds back, looking very much as if he's trying not to cry.]

[He'll get the grumpiest mumbled 'PLEASE' as Gil discards the backpack.]

Well, there it goes. Everything clicks into place when there's no further reason to argue. He's happier than he can possibly describe, of course. But he's also full of sorrow, at the fact that they had to get second lives and fight in the first place. He's still shaken from being so frightened earlier too, and from the memory of one death he never properly coped with and another he didn't get the chance to.

So he's happy, but when it settles in his mind that he's safe, really safe, away from the wars and the magic and everything else that hounded him (and them) before, and that he gets Gil to go with that safety, there's just too much emotion to do anything but drop his face into his hands and burst into tears.]
