[Mukuro is discovering that more and more of his days are spent, well, at night. It's another such night tonight, nearly midnight and he's had just a bit too much alcohol in the effort to gather information for a mission. It's just enough to make his vision blurry at the edges, and the walk home is a long one, but he'd rather not get a taxi. So here he is getting odd looks from the local Japanese, but feeling vaguely content with the world anyway.]

I know. [ a small smile, and a glance up at him. ] Thank you.

You're quite welcome. [He looks oddly pleased with himself -- an expression that wouldn't show under normal circumstances. But he catches it, and the smooth mask comes down again once he's concentrating on it.]

I'll be sure to write a detailed report, since that right-hand man of yours is so insistent on the little things.

[ Awww, that's cute. Tsuna laughs, and waves it off. ]

[insert gay hand gestures as he talks here. And he's watching Tsuna, so he's heading for running into an old lady with a painful-looking cane.]

[ And he flashes the little old lady a small smile, before letting Mukuro go with a pat. ]

Hmm... [He'll ponder this for a moment, then drape an arm around Tsuna's shoulders.]

I'm not sleepy. Are you?

[ Tsuna reacts almost instantly, laughing and shaking his head. ]

I'm not the one who's been drinking all night, Mukuro.

Ah? I'm not that drunk. [Chuckles in return, but doesn't move away.]

I am thinking perfectly clearly when I ask for your company.

My company, huh? [ no harm in that, right? ] What do you want to do-? Play cards?

Still so innocent, Tsunayoshi.

[He's thinking clearly, yes, but his judgement is not so good right now. It brings, perhaps, a bit more boldness to Mukuro's usually subtle behavior, and his hand trails along Tsuna's throat as he turns his head for a quick kiss.]

Mukuro-- [ Kissed! Tsuna, on the other hand, isn't so sure this is a great idea. The first time, after all, wasn't supposed to happen, and it's only kept happening. ]

-I don't know if we should be doing this.

[Pulling back with a slightly frown -- yes, it's not right, but that hasn't kept him from enjoying it, and he has to admit he's gotten pretty attached.]

Oh? It's a little late to protest, don't you think?

[ it's a constant conflict that wages itself on tsuna, because mukuro is mukuro and tsuna always finds it difficult to say no.

[His hand drops away at this point, and Mukuro takes a step back from Tsuna, warring emotion showing just a little, just enough for Tsuna's intuition.]

Tell me no, then. If you really don't want this sort of relationship, you ought to say so.

[ tsuna wonders when it got to this point, and mukuro's never asked for more. and-- some part of him craves it too, so he takes a step forward, catches mukuro's hand. ]

You know I can't do that. [ because he wants to show him he'll accept him just as much as anyone else. because under all that, tsuna knows mukuro, too, has feelings. ]

[Mukuro's not sure how to feel right at the moment. Relief, for one, but he almost wants to be the one to reject Tsuna now just out of spite. Still, the mood isn't entirely gone, so after a moment he just sighs a little, laughs, and begins to tug Tsuna off towards his living quarters.]

[ it feels a little like walking into the lion's den, but tsuna goes along willingly, so what does that say about him? he smiles up at mukuro, and laughs too. so they're both messed up. so maybe this will never be right, but it's what they've got. ]

In your case? Sometimes it's dangerous. But sometimes it's merely... cute, I suppose. [And the moment they're in the room, Mukuro closes the door behind them, leaning against it for a moment before pulling Tsuna close.]

And that's a good thing.

. . . cute. [ Tsuna makes a face, but he leans in, against Mukuro, tangling his fingers around his ponytail. Ahhh soft hair, soft hair!! ]

That's not really something you're supposed to tell a guy, right?
