[Well, it sure has been an interesting few months for Makoto in Trainwreckville. Killing Shinji was a lovely way to cap it off, huh? Lucky for her the Tohsakas are a bit better at parallel world things than the Matous, so they're able to do some experimenting while she's apparently waiting for Byakuya to call her back home. It's not like she really needs to know that she's never going to be called back. The Tohsaka certainly aren't going to tell her about Shirou's murderous rampaging, after the phone call they got begging them not to.
So she's left in the dark for a few days, as Rin and Sakura mess with things in the basement under the gentle watch of their mother. And then the two of them, with Makoto, spend one late evening setting up a magic circle, in hopes of trying out a few leads they found in old books.
Only as soon as the circle's done and Makoto's stepped on it, it lights up all on its own without any prompting from any of the three of them. It seems someone's been waiting for an anchor point... and Makoto will find herself transported in a very disorienting and nauseating manner into a much more familiar basement, with a much more familiar Byakuya.]
Finally! What kind of stupid place did you get yourself off to anyway?!
[ when she can finally feel her feet on solid ground, makoto realizes she's been holding her breath. knees wobbling, she takes a few hesitant steps on the cobblestone floor before she exhales. this felt right; it felt like home and it sank in much quicker when the sound of her father (definitely her father) rang between her ears in a way no sound ever had before. she feels tired, sick and a little confused, but it doesn't stop her from clumsily stumbling in his direction, crashing into him and arms hooking around his waist.
she really doesn't waste any time before she starts wailing at him. ]
[He sighs and pats her on the head, sounding exasperated above all else. He's concerned too, though. It's been too long. He's been searching every day, blindly, hoping to find Makoto and a magic circle in the same place. He had no guarantee it would work, but he had no other leads, so he kept at it. After this much time, he'd nearly given up, too. Now he's glad he didn't quit. He couldn't rely on the competence of other people to have gotten her home on their own.]
[ finally. finally. her home, her world, her dad. everything was definitely going to be okay now, right? she's been through a lot without you byakuya! her grip tightens around him the more she thinks about it. ]
I-I don't know what happened... I didn't know how to get back. It was really bad... !
I don't really know what happened either. We just hoped this would work. Looks like we got lucky, huh?
[Looks like this requires further headpats. Normally he'd ave extracted himself from the physical affection by now, but he figures it's a special occasion. He can be nice for a little longer.]
[ she can tell she's nearing the end of his patience for her dramatics, but. she nods, a little breathless. ]
I-I'm just so glad to be back home, Daddy... ! [ really. she wants you to know that. you'd definitely appreciate her murdering a shitbag for you wouldn't you? ]
[Because clearly Byakuya is so much better suited. Actually it seems like Kariya being in charge might have been a good thing, but... Well, obviously it wasn't. So he guesses that just means he's more suited to be the older brother after all.
He pats Makoto on the head again, turning and steering her towards the kitchen.]
