If he approaches me or returns to this house again, you can do what you like with him.
[He can't meet Kirei's eyes when he looks that smug, but that's okay. He's not sure he could watch him killed either, right now. So he keeps his head down while Kirei leaves with a laugh and a casual "as you wish, of course".
After he can't sense him in the house any longer, Tokiomi finally lets go of Gil and forces himself to get on his feet and smile.]
[He hovers nearby, just in case Tokiomi needs something to lean on]
To be honest, part of me still demands we take his head, but I will ignore it in favor of more pressing matters. It may be wise for you to rest while I make sure this house is still secure.
[He could definitely use the help staying upright, but that doesn't mean he'll take it. As always Tokiomi is determined to put his self-control ahead of everything else, even when he's visibly swaying and trembling from pain and blood loss.]
[...he says as he sparkles out to follow and keep an eye on Tokiomi. Gilgamesh is beginning to understand that the strict adherence to this "elegance" business gets silly sometimes, and judging from the way his master is wobbling, now is one of those instances.]
[It is in fact one of those instances. He manages to get himself all the way up the stairs and halfway down the hallway on sheer stubborn willpower, but eventually collapse is inevitable and he ends up on the floor wondering how he got there and watching the ceiling spin.]
Ah... that's natural, isn't it? Tonight's been awfully eventful.
[y-yep, going to scoop Tokiomi up -- even with his small body, he has a Saber class's strength, and it doesn't take much to get Tokiomi to his bedroom]
[Tokiomi is getting more and more out of it by the moment. He's falling asleep, mainly, but the effects of the last hour or so are hitting him pretty hard as well. It's hard to keep his elegant face on when he's hurting this badly.
He'll be embarrassed about it later, but for now he wraps his arms around Gil's neck and holds on.]
He pushes the bedroom door open and lays his master down as gently as possible. Despite his tendency to get overexcited and a bit rough, he's being quite gentle now that he puts his mind to it]
[Yes, this more comfortable. But he still doesn't want to let go. He's cold and he's in need of comfort and at the moment he's too sleepy to hide the fact that he's scared. Without Kirei, his foundations have been pulled out from under him.]
[It was simple to sense how scared Tokiomi is -- still, it does feel strange to see it shown so openly. In a way, he's grateful that Tokiomi has the chance to stop being brave, because it's a very tiring thing.]
Ah, as you wish, Master! I'll be right here.
[He hops onto the foot of the bed and sits there, cross-legged and attentive]
[...but modern beds are terribly soft, and he hasn't had a good excuse to curl up on one since he was summoned. So, in the name of comforting his Master, he scoots up to the head of the bed and curls up there himself.
[That's surprisingly nice. And warm and solid, considering he's dead and all.
Suddenly two things hit Tokiomi at once:
1. He really likes Gil, like a person and not a familiar.
2. He is not, in fact, alone in this big scary world just because he doesn't have Kirei to tell him what's best. Because there is someone else here, and because that person makes him feel like he can handle it even if he did have to carry on by himself.
flopping his blankets over Gil too and taking advantage of his chest as a good place to cry out all this pent up emotion that seems to be leaking out uncontrollably at the moment]
[He drapes his arms around his Master and lets him cry. Gilgamesh had counted on cruelty and hardship for the both of them, but he never once thought to question Tokiomi's ability or resilience. His Master had proved worthy from the beginning, and that sense of acknowledgement has become an undeniable affection, the sort that he imagines he'd only be capable of in this younger body of his.
In his down time, he's meditated on the sort of person he knows he became -- he can't call the result good or bad, but it's something he doesn't wish to see his Master duplicate. The modern world does not strike him as well-equipped to handle many great yet cruel men (indeed, it barely weathered his older self), and so he'd prefer Tokiomi to remain as he is now, kind and noble. The loneliness, in this case, is fixable, and Gilgamesh has set his mind to aiding in that.]

After a moment he peeks back out of them to mumble at Gil again.]
You can sleep too, if you want.

Ah, then perhaps I will. Thank you!
