[Really, he'd rather not delve into his annoyance at Diarmuid's attempted self sacrifice or the sense of guilt he'd feel if he ever allowed a crazy person to just kick the bucket - especially when your friend is pretty into said crazy person]

Sometimes it's necessary. How many people do you think he's killed? How many will die if he gets out of control again? If something happens to Cu, it'd be a disaster.

Then we make sure nothing happens to Cu! Archer does that much already, so if we're that much more careful it'll be fine. And anyways, Diarmuid deserves a chance, right?

I know you're all attached. But he's already killed thousands of people, and it obviously isn't hard to push him to violence. If those people took him from you, I doubt he could throw off his training easily. He'd kill thousands more. All it would take is one moment of negligence from you three.

[Archer sighs - he would hardly call himself "attached" but he realizes that's more the truth than he acknowledges. And that's what makes Kiritsugu's words difficult to swallow.

Really, he hates those moments when he realizes how stuck he is between Shirou's idiocy and Kiritsugu's pragmatism. The former wishes for something impossible while the latter hurts more than he admits. It really would be best to kill Diarmuid and save everyone the trouble, but the thought makes him sick.]

He's fairly certain Kiritsugu wouldn't accept that as an excuse for all that, though.]
