puppies are cute and subjects are not

[When you're the leader of a fearsome girl gang, people expect a certain amount of intimidating ability. You have to be able to be scary, even more so than a boy, because your male rivals have an automatic assumption that you're weaker than they are. Kida's very good at that, when she's in a position where she has to be. Being a little on the small side doesn't stop her at all, so her reputation is completely earned.

But during the normal day, she feels a lot better just being herself. Worries and insecurities and tendency to be too bold to be ladylike aside, she likes clothes and sweets and cute things as much as the next girl. Today, she's indulging herself by poking around a pet shop. She has no intention of taking anything home, but it's still fun to look, and right now she's staring intently into the glass of a lizard's habitat.]

[ Far from being terrifying, the pet store is presently manned by Azana, who was just finishing up cleaning a brand new cage for a litter of puppies. He's a bit clumsy with them and it took longer than it should have because they were jumping all over and he got distracted with them a few times, but he's finally finished! And he notices that someone's come into the shop, so he brushes some hair and fluff off himself and then wanders over to greet her. ]

Hello there... [ He smiles brightly, a good compensation for all the bandages on his face which are a usual accessory. He doesn't seem to be bothered in the least, though. Just happy that someone's come in. ] Can I help you with something? That one... [ He tilts his head toward the lizard, who in fact looks a bit grumpy. ] He's really sweet.

Really!

[He glances to the cage, watching the grumpy lizard for a few moments before he turns back to the young lady. But his expression quickly changes to one of worry as she talks about sending him to the tundra of all places.] Oh, no! He would die if he went there! Reptiles can't adapt to such drastic changes in temperature.

... But he probably would like to get out of that cage more often. Hopefully he'll find a good home where he can have lots of exercise.
