"Nothing but"?

Of course sadism was an element, and if you had the ability to understand, you wouldn't blame me. It's true that I tempted him once, but as I mentioned, he returned time and time again of his own volition. I was curious to see what his own lust and foolish curiosity would bring about, and the results were better than I could have anticipated. It drew you to me not once, but twice now, when you're otherwise so elusive. And because of that, I may as well tempt him back again if it means you'd pay me a third visit in the future.

[He laughs, taking several steps towards Kiritsugu. Kirei doesn't fear Kiritsugu -- quite the opposite, he would not object entirely to being shot by the man, though he has every intention to avoid it if possible]

But I will be honest with you, Emiya Kiritsugu, it wasn't pure sadism. Sleeping with a talented but strung out addict loses its charm after some time. Shirou's physical companionship was much appreciated.

[No. He is not talking about this. It's been obvious for a long time that Kirei is nowhere near sane and thus it's completely useless to argue with him.

Instead he'll just take another shot at his face.]

[Kiritsugu is, as far as Kirei's concerned, awfully predictable -- as he guessed, there's more gunfire, easy enough for him to sidestep. While Kiritsugu has cover, while luring him out would prove difficult, he's certain that the man is stubborn enough to stay for as long as he wants, and focused enough to be baited.

Which is fine, really. Kirei enjoys his company, with or without the bullets.]

I see you insist on placing the blame with me. Very well, allow me to pose a question to you, then. If I were to pledge that I would no longer lay a hand on him, and that I would turn him away from this place when he came, what would you do for me in return?

I wouldn't believe you.

How uncharitable of you. Certainly you must know that while some would find me disagreeable, I'm hardly dishonest.

You're anything but honest. It would be easier to just kill you.

I do not doubt that - unfortunately, that's rather against my own personal interests, which puts us at an impasse. I'd rather stay alive for the moment, while I'm certain you're happy to stay here until I'm dead.

So, how shall we solve this?

[It would be a waste to keep firing, so all he can really do for now is stay ready to move and hidden behind the pew.]

Ah, I suppose the silence means you concede the decision to me. If you must, I'm in no position to refuse.

[No this is not good!

The benefit of the pew is that it protects him from that side. The drawback is that it means he has to either vault it or run its length to get away once Kirei's back there.

He goes for the former, rolling under the one in front of it and coming up shooting.]
